- Following some teaser photos of the Kia EV2 last week, the Korean manufacturer has revealed the EV2 Concept in full at the brand’s ‘Kia EV Day’.
- The design indicates an EV that will be the smallest we’ve seen from Kia yet – and likely the most affordable, too.
- The manufacturer confirmed that the final production version of the EV2 will hit markets in 2026.
Kia reveals its vision for smaller EVs
With its small but high stance, Kia is positioning the EV2 as a B-segment SUV that is still designed for the urban environment, while maximising space – with an airy interior despite its small footprint. There’s a high level of technology on the concept, including vehicle-to-load capabilities, LED ‘window messaging’ and a unique dashboard. How much of that carries over to the production model remains to be seen.

While from an affordability standpoint, it seems unlikely that the production variant of the EV2 will keep the rear-hinged back doors of the concept, we can still expect the core design to largely carry over – just look how similar previous Kia EV concepts have looked compared to the final products.
Specifications around pricing and performance are still yet to be revealed for the road-going EV2, though we can expect to hear more later this year and into 2026. However, Kia did confirm that the production-going version of the EV2 will launch in ‘Europe and other regions’ in 2026.
Other models revealed on stage at Kia EV Day included the Kia EV4, a hatchback and saloon duo that is set to take on a wider range of rivals, from the Volkswagen ID.3 to the Tesla Model 3. Kia’s first electric commercial van, the PV5, was also shown off at the event.
Kia President and CEO, Ho Sung Song, commented on the EV2 Concept reveal and the wider Kia EV Day:
“Kia remains committed to becoming the world’s leading EV brand and sustainable mobility solutions provider by enhancing the options and experiences we offer our customers. With models like the Kia EV4 and the vision shown in the Kia Concept EV2, we strive to democratise EV ownership, making the benefits of sustainable mobility solutions open to everyone.
In an era that places ever greater demand for customised products and experiences, buyers still expect manufacturers to meet their needs. As a first mover in the PBV sector, Kia, through the PV5, combines a customer-first approach with advanced EV technology to transform personal mobility.”
