Under the hood, the Kindred EV Bronco features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system paired with an 80kWh battery pack. This setup delivers 402 horsepower and 492 pound-feet of torque. Kindred designed the powertrain to match the performance of a traditional 5.0L V8 engine. To top it all off, the vehicle also boasts fast DC charging capabilities.

Kindred has redesigned the Bronco’s chassis to accommodate the new electric power. It now includes independent front suspension and a multilink coil-spring rear suspension. Upgraded axles with limited-slip differentials and a six-point roll cage ensure rigidity and safety.

The point of these conversions is to retain the original look and feel of these classic models.

The exterior of the Kindred Bronco is no different, save for a few modern updates. Buyers can choose from 11 colours and opt for light cream or black accents. It comes with removable doors, a standard bikini top, and an optional hardtop for an extra $15,000.

Inside, Kindred has added a touch of luxury. The leather seats are heated in the front. The cabin includes LED-illuminated automatic retractable steps for easy entry, retro-inspired LED gauges, and a custom touchscreen infotainment system. Modern conveniences like wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a MagSafe wireless charging dock are also included. Additional features like power windows, full HVAC with AC, keyless entry, and a wood floor behind the seats complete the package.

This car, and the EV conversion sector on the whole, is stylish, iconic, and fun. Breathing new life into classic cars and allowing them to long outlive their petrol half-lives.
