Tesla has achieved a significant milestone by delivering its 200,000th vehicle in the United Kingdom.
Tesla has delivered its 200,000th vehicle in the UK. This achievement marks a pivotal moment for both Tesla and the UK’s electric vehicle market. With the UK surpassing 1,000,000 electric vehicles sold, Tesla vehicles now make up nearly one-fifth of all EVs on UK roads.
A decade ago, Tesla introduced the Model S in the UK. This started a journey that has transformed the country’s approach to sustainable energy and electric vehicles. Today, with over 200,000 deliveries and 1,400 Superchargers, Tesla is setting new benchmarks in the industry. They have also grown their workforce to over 1,400 employees in the UK.
Michael Oates, Tesla’s Country Sales and Delivery Manager, comments on the brand’s impact:
“Reaching this milestone of 200,000 deliveries shows how far Tesla have contributed to the UK’s transition to sustainable energy. More and more customers are not just looking towards Tesla as an option for sustainability, but also for safety and affordability.”
Operating across 40 locations in the UK, Tesla’s direct-to-customer model ensures convenient service, including mobile servicing for half its vehicles. The company is also building its second Tesla Body Repair Centre in the UK, building confidence in its own parts and repair network in addition to its 65+ Tesla Approved Body Repair Centres. Tesla also leads in grid energy storage solutions, deploying 1GWh of Megapacks across 15 sites.
From the introduction of the Model S in 2014, to the recent launch of the Upgraded Model 3 in 2024, Tesla’s dedication to innovation and sustainability continues to drive positive change in the UK’s electric vehicle landscape.
