Osprey Charging has acquired an essential plot of land in Paisley, Glasgow, to develop Scotland’s largest EV hub
Osprey Charging has recently acquired land in Paisley, Glasgow, to develop Scotland’s largest EV charging hub. The new facility will feature 16 ultra-rapid 300kW chargers and will be operational by early 2025.
The hub is situated near the Phoenix Retail Park and easily accessible from the A737 and M8 motorway, as well as Glasgow Airport. This makes it a convenient spot for drivers in the region.
Osprey CEO, Ian Johnston, commented:
“We’re hugely excited to have completed the purchase of the land for our forthcoming 16-charger ultra-rapid hub in Paisley, which marks our second freehold site in the UK. The purchase of freehold sites is an important strategy for Osprey, as it enables us to build larger public charging locations with greater flexibility over their design. This hub will be crucial in supporting the uptake of EVs in Scotland as well as in meeting growing demand for reliable, accessible and high-quality EV charging across the UK.
In 2024, we have successfully delivered nine high-powered hubs across various UK locations, and the new Paisley hub opposite the Phoenix Retail Park will be another significant milestone in our rapidly expanding network. As the year progresses, our goal is to complete 30 hubs, which will be a monumental stride not only in the advancement of our network but also in fortifying the broader public EV charging infrastructure.”
Osprey Charging has been rapidly expanding its network
In 2024 alone, the company has installed over 200 rapid and ultra-rapid charge points. That makes it one of the UK’s largest networks. Osprey has achieved a 99% reliability rate. They have also gained the accolade of ‘Driver Recommended Network’ by ZapMap for the fourth consecutive time.
The new Paisley hub highlights Osprey Charging’s efforts to support the transition to electric vehicles in Scotland and across the UK. The company’s ongoing expansions are expected to play a vital role in meeting the increasing demand for EV charging facilities.
