IONITY launches its biggest UK EV charging hub at the Hilton Hotel in Dartford, UK

IONITY has launched its largest ultra-rapid EV charging hub in the UK. The new site, located at DoubleTree by Hilton Dartford Bridge (M25 Junction 1a), features 24 high-powered 350kW chargers.

This marks the start of a long-term partnership between IONITY and Henderson Park, a real estate investment firm. Together, they’re installing ultra-rapid EV chargers at five more Hilton DoubleTree locations across the UK. Those include hotels in Newbury North, Coventry, Bristol North, Edinburgh Airport, and Glasgow Strathclyde. In total, 104 rapid chargers will be deployed.

Peter Stack, CEO of Klarent Hospitality, a Henderson Park-owned company, commented:

“Partnering with IONITY is a huge step towards guaranteeing cutting-edge EV charging right across our DoubleTree by Hilton portfolio and opens up new revenue streams for us. It’s crucial for us to future-proof our hotels against both the evolving needs of travellers and hotel guests, and our short and long-term sustainability commitments; this agreement delivers both.”

The project supports the UK government’s goal of ensuring 80% of new car sales are electric by 2030. It is also part of IONITY’s broader plan to triple the number of public EV chargers in the UK by the end of 2025.

Drivers can charge their EVs from 10% to 80% in under 15 minutes. All stations use 100% renewable energy from wind, solar, or hydroelectric power. This ensures completely emission-free, carbon-neutral travel.

Andreas Atkins, Country Manager UK & Ireland at IONITY, added:

“It’s essential for travellers all across the UK to have access to high-quality charging infrastructure if we’re going to keep accelerating the transition to electric mobility. The UK has been one of the most successful countries to do so over 2024.

Through partnerships like this that expand our ultra-rapid charging network, we can make long-distance EV travel more accessible, convenient, and reliable for all drivers—whether they are hotel guests, business travellers, or fleet operators.”

With more chargers in key locations, EV drivers can travel across the UK with greater confidence. As electric vehicles become the norm, projects like this will be essential in making sustainable travel a reality for everyone.
