EV deals are driving accessibility and sustainability across the UK in 2025

Future-focussed businesses are announcing new partnerships and incentives to make 2025 the year of the EV. In doing so, they’re pushing the nation closer to its net-zero and zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) goals.
OVO Energy and Volkswagen Group UK have expanded their benefits package to fleet drivers. Previously available to private buyers, the program now includes salary sacrifice and company car customers. This means more drivers can enjoy perks like 2,000 miles of free home charging, annual bonuses of 1,000 miles for up to three years, and access to OVO’s “Charge Anytime” tariff. This add-on offers home charging rates as low as 7p per kWh, significantly cutting costs.

Meanwhile, EDF is offering EV drivers a fantastic deal if they switch to a more sustainable tariff. Customers who sign up for the Pod Point Plug & Power tariff by January 31, 2024, will receive a £300 credit—enough for nearly two years of free driving. The deal also bundles a discounted EV charger and ultra-low overnight charging rates of 8.49p per kWh.
These initiatives make EVs more attractive to private and fleet customers alike. Fleet sales are a key focus for the nation. They represented 60% of UK car registrations in 2024, with battery-electric vehicles making up 25.4% of that share.
These offers are about more than savings. They aim to reduce carbon footprints and support the UK’s transition to greener transport. With EV ownership easier and cheaper than ever, 2025 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for sustainable mobility. This could be the momentum needed to meet our climate goals.
