Vauxhall launches its “Energising a Better Britain” campaign, shining a light on its electric light commercial vehicles
The campaign underscores Vauxhall’s electric commitments, while showcasing key fleet partners like British Gas and OpenReach. These partners have already integrated significant numbers of Vauxhall electric vans into their fleets.
Vauxhall is one of few brands offering a fully electric variant for every model in its light commercial vehicle lineup. That includes the Combo, Vivaro, and Movano vans. The company was the UK’s top-selling electric van manufacturer in 2021, 2022, and 2023. As the world turns to electrification, we’ve seen more and more examples of EV offerings directly translating to profitability.
The campaign’s centrepiece is a TV spot, kicking off today, June 3, on ITV, Channel 4, and Sky.
The ad features British Gas and OpenReach, demonstrating the practical applications of Vauxhall’s electric vans. This is a major step into the public consciousness. As with major EV manufacturers sponsoring sports events, like BYD sponsoring the upcoming EURO 2024, the importance of putting EVs front and centre on a major stage cannot be overstated.
Vauxhall, along with its Stellantis sister brands, is unique in manufacturing vans within the UK. The Combo Electric is produced at the Ellesmere Port plant, the UK’s first EV-only manufacturing facility. Vauxhall recently announced that production of the Vivaro Electric will begin at its Luton plant in 2025. Both plants are now committed to an all-electric future.
James Taylor, Managing Director of Vauxhall, commented:
“Our exciting new ‘Energising a Better Britain’ campaign demonstrates the work we are doing to offer businesses across the UK with a practical range of electric vans to support them as they look to decarbonise their operations. With the combination of our new TV advertisement, digital campaign, and out of home billboards, we look forward to bringing our latest LCV models to even more drivers across the country.”
This celebration of electric vans is a great sign of the strength of the e-LCV industry. With fleets electrifying worldwide, these vans are essential in our path to net-zero. It’s not only vans, Vauxhall is flying the flag for affordable public charging with its ongoing Electric Streets of Britain campaign.
The company is also hosting a panel on day one of the EV SUMMIT, on the 15th of July. The panel will cover the gaps in the knowledge of regular drivers when first encountering EV charging infrastructure. You can secure your delegate pass to join the panel here.
