Electric motorbike market takes flight as Verge Motorcycles expands to the US
Verge Motorcycles is set to make its mark in the United States with the opening of its first retail stores in California. The European technology company will launch two stores, one in Los Angeles and another in San Jose. The Los Angeles store at Westfield Century City Shopping Center will open on June 1. This will be followed by the San Jose store on June 6.
These new stores will act as experiential showrooms, designed to showcase the Verge brand and lifestyle.
Pekka Parnanen, COO of Verge Motorcycles in the US, commented:
“The United States is one of our most important markets, and the majority of pre-orders for the bikes in the USA have come specifically from the California area. Local consumers are known to value exciting innovations and they are eager to try new things”
Verge Motorcycles is celebrated for its futuristic design and performance, featuring a distinctive in-wheel motor powertrain.
In November, Verge launched the Starmatter platform. This includes software updates, sensor technology, artificial intelligence, and an advanced user interface. At CES in Las Vegas, Verge unveiled Starmatter Vision, featuring multiple cameras and high-resolution radar. This tech makes the Verge TS Ultra the first motorcycle equipped with the sense of sight.
This move into California is part of Verge’s broader strategy to expand its footprint. The company recently launched sales in the UK and opened a summer pop-up store at Westfield shopping centre in London.
Verge Motorcycles is expanding globally, underscoring the growing popularity of these cutting-edge vehicles worldwide. It’s a field of consistent growth and innovation. 2024 will see the release of several high-tech models from companies in various regions. We’ll be closely monitoring how these models perform as the year progresses.
