Trojan Energy helps Harrow take a step toward a cleaner future with 100 new on-street EV charge points
Harrow is taking a big step toward a cleaner future. The London borough has partnered with Trojan Energy to bring 100 innovative on-street EV charging points to its streets. This is a part of Harrow’s plan to reduce emissions and support the shift to sustainable transport.

The project is funded by the Government’s On-Street Residential Chargepoint Scheme (ORCS). The new chargers will make it easier for people without driveways to charge their cars close to home. This is especially important as more residents are switching to electric and hybrid vehicles.
Trojan Energy’s charging points are different from the usual ones. They are designed to sit flat and flush with the pavement. When not in use, they remain hidden, which helps avoid street clutter. This means pedestrians and cyclists won’t have to navigate around bulky charging stations.
The chargers will provide fast charging up to 22kW. They are easy to use, with a simple plug-and-play experience that works with a personal adaptor.
They began installing this month, and the project will be completed later this year.
Trojan Energy’s CEO, Ian Mackenzie, celebrated the partnership:

“We’re pleased to be partnering with Harrow Council to deliver our clutter-free on-street EV charging to more residents. At Trojan Energy, our mission is to ensure everyone can benefit from the transition to electric vehicles, particularly those without access to off-street parking.
This collaboration marks another meaningful step towards making reliable, accessible charging a standard feature of streets across the UK.”
This announcement builds on a similar project in Camden. Following a successful trial, Camden has partnered with Trojan to install 570 on-street chargers, supporting residents without off-street parking. Both projects are funded by the Government’s On-Street Residential Chargepoint Scheme and aim to boost sustainable travel while reducing emissions. Trojan’s unique, flat, and flush chargers provide a cleaner and more accessible way to charge electric vehicles across London boroughs.
This partnership will help Harrow’s residents transition to electric vehicles. It’s another step in the borough’s goal to become a more sustainable and environmentally friendly place
