- Multi-energy firm TotalEnergies has installed 170 EV chargers across the London Borough of Camden, covering 80 sites across the area.
- This includes on-street charging infrastructure, meeting growing demand for residents who are hesitant to make the switch to EVs due to a lack of off-street parking in the capital.
- This additional brings the total number of EV charge points operated in London by TotalEnergies to over 3,000.
London sees yet another significant public charging expansion
The 170 charge points being rolled out will include 18 rapid charge points, capable of delivering up to 100kW, and all chargers will be solely powered using electricity from renewable sources. The smaller number of rapid chargers suggests this rollout will have a larger focus on low power charging, giving residents without off-street parking the opportunity to charge up EVs overnight close to their homes.
With this expansion, TotalEnergies now operates over 500 EV-dedicated charging bays in Camden alone.
Nicolas Garnier, Managing Director of TotalEnergies Charging Solutions UK, commented:
“We are delighted to continue supporting the uptake of EVs in Camden with these additional 80 sites, providing a wide range of power options from 22 to 100 kW. Whether it is for private hire drivers, fleet drivers or Camden residents, TotalEnergies ensures seamless and convenient charging options across Camden.”
Councillor Adam Harrison of London Borough of Camden added:
“The new rapid charge points installed by TotalEnergies will help Camden achieve our Net Zero targets, in line with Camden’s Climate Action Plan, with attractive pricing and a reliable network supporting the charging needs for thousands of people in the borough.”
We’re only three months into 2026, and we’ve already seen several significant expansions and announcements regarding public EV charging across the UK’s capital. The neighbouring Borough of Islington, for instance, is set to see another 840 chargers rolled out ahead of 2030, while the London Borough of Harrow is seeing 500 on-street chargers being rolled out in a partnership with char.gy. This latest announcement from TotalEnergies comes as the latest welcome addition to London’s growing charging network.
