  • The EV6 was introduced in 2021 and has already become a firm favourite in the electric crossover world, with it winning the 2022 European Car of the Year award.
  • Starting at £45,575 in the UK, a mid-life update for the EV6 was just revealed, bringing visual changes, along with increased range and faster charging.

The EV6 exists in a busy electric crossover space, vying to be chosen against other electric rivals such as the Tesla Model Y, Nissan Ariya, Ford Mustang Mach-e, and it’s closely related rival, the Hyundai IONIQ 5.

In updated, most-affordable ‘Air’ spec, a rear-drive motor delivers a respectable 225 horsepower motor, along with the updated 84kWh battery offering a range of around 361 miles – top class, for its segment. Standard equipment even on this entry level model is vast, including a vegan leather interior, heated front seats and steering wheel, and a wide range of tech, from Apple CarPlay/Android Auto to distance-guided cruise control.

Much like the IONIQ 5 N, the EV6 can be specified in similarly rapid ‘GT’ spec. With a 577 horsepower dual-motor setup, this delivers a seriously rapid 0-62mph time of 3.5 seconds, and a top speed of 162mph. Unlike the flashy IONIQ 5 N however, it’s harder to tell the EV6 GT apart from the rest of the range, which could make it the ideal choice as a fast EV that doesn’t visually shout about its performance.

To try out the Kia EV6 for yourself, be sure to come along to EV LIVE at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, running between Friday 13 September and Sunday 15 September.
