UK and Ireland ultra-rapid public charging network, Source, has announced a three-way collaboration with Siemens eMobility and Evolt Charging to deliver a unified maintenance and operations model across its expanding EV charging network.
Source, the joint venture public charging firm set up between SSE and TotalEnergies, only launched its first charging location last April, but is already racing towards 300 charging hubs by 2030. Keeping that sustained growth reliable is obviously a key objective, which helps explain the basis of this new collaboration.
Under the agreement, Siemens eMobility will supply high-performance DC EV charging hardware to Source locations, whilst Evolt Charging will provide the engineering capabilities to install, commission, and maintain the hardware. Improving public charger reliability has been a key aim of all CPOs, and perceived charger reliablity is still seen as a barrier to encouraging EV adoption and boosting charge point utilisation. With that in mind, this new partnership will help support Source’s performance target of 99%+ uptime across its network.
Deepa Chandrasekaran, Managing Director at Source, commented:
“Charging infrastructure is only as good as the team keeping it running. By bringing together Siemens eMobility’s hardware expertise and Evolt Charging’s nationwide engineering capability, we have a model that means our customers can rely on our network wherever they are. That’s not a small thing – it’s the foundation everything else is built on. As we grow, maintaining that reliability is what will set Source apart. EV drivers and fleet operators need to know that when they pull up to one of our hubs, it will work. Partnerships like this are how we make that promise credible.”
Stephen Wood, Head of Siemens eMobility UK, said:
“Our collaboration with Source EV and Evolt Charging is built for scale and designed to deliver high uptime, reliable customer experience and operational excellence. Backed by a strong framework agreement, it demonstrates how strong alignment can accelerate the delivery of reliable, ultra-rapid charging that EV drivers can depend on. The first sites are already performing well, and we’re proud to support Source EV in setting high standards for uptime and customer confidence as their network continues to grow.”
Justin Meyer, Managing Director at Evolt Charging, added:
“This new partnership highlights what can be achieved when operators, hardware providers and service specialists align to deliver high-quality, reliable charging infrastructure at scale across the UK and Ireland.
As a trusted and certified service provider to Source and Siemens hardware, we’re proud to support Source’s rollout through a fully integrated service and maintenance offering – from remote diagnostics and reporting through to nationwide field support. As networks scale across multiple hardware brands, our manufacturer-agnostic model gives operators the confidence of consistent service, compliance and driver support through a single trusted partner.
We look forward to building on this partnership, with the strong collaboration already demonstrated between operational teams providing a solid foundation for continued success.”
