Royal Mail expands electric fleet with strengthened PEUGEOT partnership

PEUGEOT has strengthened its long-term partnership with Royal Mail by supplying 2,100 electric vans. This includes over 1,000 E-PARTNER vans, which are built in the UK. The new vans are hitting the streets this week. As a piece of EV history, they will be the first electric vehicles to display King Charles III’s cypher.

Royal Mail will use these electric vans to enhance its delivery services during the busy Christmas period. Once fully operational, these vans will reduce emissions by around 6,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent per year.

PEUGEOT has been a trusted partner for Royal Mail since 2009, supplying electric vans since 2014. The latest addition to their fleet will be charged on-site using 100% renewable energy.

In addition to the electric vans, Royal Mail has introduced hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) for its heavy goods vehicles. This renewable fuel produces up to 90% less direct carbon emissions than traditional diesel.

PEUGEOT is currently the best-selling electric van brand in the UK. It holds a 19.5% share of the electric light commercial vehicle market as of September 2024. The new E-PARTNER features advanced technology, including a range of up to 213 miles and a payload capacity of 780 kg.

Both PEUGEOT and Royal Mail are dedicated to making their operations greener. Royal Mail is aiming for net zero by 2040. This continued collaboration is pushing the service towards its goals.
