- UK public charging provider PoGo Charge, owned by parent company SWARCO, has launched two new charging stations, both equipped with eight 200kW ultra-rapid charge points and six 7kW AC charge points.
- The expansion comes as part of the company’s partnership with Kew Green Hotels, who operate over 55 hotels across the world.
- The two new sites have gone live at Kew Green Hotels’ franchised Holiday Inn sites, in both Rugby and Derby.
PoGo Charge brings more ultra-rapid chargers to Britain
Whilst the two new sites are specifically built at hotels, their location will benefit long-distance travellers too, with both the Derby and Rugby sites located just off the major M1 motorway. The partnership between PoGo Charge and Kew Green Hotels has been long standing, with a national plan to launch EV charging sites at 40 hotel locations across the UK. The Holiday Inn Birmingham was one such site to receive Pogo Charge’s EV charging expertise, earlier this year.
The UK’s charging network is already a class act, with over 40% of the UK’s high-speed charging added to the network in 2023 alone. This addition of more ultra-rapid chargers to the nation’s infrastructure is a welcome addition – particularly with the possibility that the country’s mandate on the sale of new EVs will be shifted from 2035 to 2030.
