New EV3 models will feature Kia’s new CarPay payment system
Kia is introducing CarPay, its new in-car payment system. CarPay debuts with the EV3, and allows drivers to pay for parking and other services directly from the vehicle. The feature is accessible through the Kia Connect App or the car’s touchscreen. It links directly to the driver’s payment card, making transactions smooth and secure.
Partnering with Parkopedia, CarPay’s initial focus is on simplifying parking. Drivers can now locate and pay for parking spots directly through the car’s navigation screen. This removes the hassle of external apps or meters. With over 1.7 million parking locations across 19 European countries, Parkopedia’s integration covers on- and off-street parking, making it easier for drivers across Europe to find and pay for parking.
Olivier Pascal, General Manager and Head of Connectivity, Kia Connect, said:
“Bringing an easy and streamlined payment method into the vehicle is a game-changer. This is just the beginning, with CarPay set to expand in the future to include payments for a wide range of goods and services, to provide greater convenience for drivers and passengers.”
