  • JET Charge raised significant funding, led by Mirova Energy Transition Fund 6, to expand EV infrastructure across Australasia.
  • The funding will enhance JET Charge’s “Charging as a Service” model and support advanced technologies like CORE and Illuminate.
  • The investment aims to overcome EV adoption barriers, particularly by expanding reliable charging infrastructure and supporting decarbonisation.

AUD 72 million for JET Charge will accelerate the rollout of Australasia’s EV charging networks

JET Charge has raised AUD 72 million in funding to build scalable EV infrastructure across Australasia. The investment was led by Mirova Energy Transition Fund 6 (MET6), a sustainable investing arm of Natixis Investment Managers. Existing shareholders, including the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (via Virescent Ventures), RACV, and Kilara Capital, also contributed.

Tim Washington, Co-Founder and CEO of JET Charge, commented:

“JET Charge was founded on the belief that electrifying transport is key to achieving a sustainable future. This funding will enable us to build the scalable, accessible, and reliable infrastructure required to make EVs a practical choice for every Australian and New Zealander.”

This funding will expand JET Charge’s “Charging as a Service” (CaaS) model. The CaaS approach removes upfront costs and simplifies EV charging for businesses and individuals. It will also support the development of proprietary technologies like CORE, an advanced energy management system, and Illuminate, a platform for managing assets.

Emma Jenkin, Partner of Kilara Capital, added:

“Mirova’s investment is an endorsement of the founders and JET Charge’s business model and their position as the leading EV infrastructure business in Australia. Mirova is a leading global climate impact investor, and this funding will provide JET Charge with the capital to expedite the build out Australia’s EV charging infrastructure. This is one of the key barriers to EV uptake and a critical element in Australia’s decarbonisation journey.”

The new funding will help JET Charge address one of the biggest barriers to EV adoption: reliable infrastructure. The new infrastructure will push the region’s sustainability to new heights as Australasia’s EV market blossoms.
