Jameel and DHL partner for UK Farizon SV electric van launch

  • The official UK distributor of Farizon, Jameel Motors UK, has appointed logistics firm DHL to partially support the fully-electric van’s UK market launch.
  • The Farizon SV is set to be officially launched at this week’s Commercial Vehicle Show.
  • DHL’s expertise in automotive logistics will play a key part in ensuring Farizon’s success both at launch and in the longer term.

Jameel and Farizon gear up for UK launch with DHL’s expertise

Under this agreement, DHL will play a key part in bringing Farizon electric vans into the UK, as well as for providing ongoing support — allowing Jameel Motors to leverage DHL’s ready-made and extensive network, a useful asset for an automotive brand that has yet to establish itself in the country.

Under the agreement, DHL Global Forwarding will manage the customs process for both Farizon SV vans and spare parts, which will then be picked up by DHL Supply Chain, before being checked over and then transported to its ‘finished vehicle’ site, forming an end-to-end solution for the new manufacturer.

DHL Supply Chain will also be responsible for several other aspects, including the Farizon press and demonstration fleet, as well as delivery and pre-delivery inspections to customers and businesses.

Kate McLaren, Head of Marketing and Sales Operations at Jameel Motors UK, commented:

“As a new brand to the UK and with a new benchmark for the electric van market, we recognise the imperative of leveraging the expertise and experience of the very best partners. Having DHL’s expertise, extensive network and facilities as well as its commitment to quality is crucial to the success of our launch and long-term operations.”

Paul Stone, Managing Director of Manufacturing Logistics, DHL Supply Chain, added:

“Setting up an entirely new operation is a significant undertaking. By giving Farizon a ready-made network and access to the highest level of automotive logistics expertise, we’re enabling seamless market entry. It’s an exciting time for the automotive industry with more choice and innovation than we’ve seen in decades. We’re proud to be a key part of such a dynamic industry and support our customers’ ambitious growth plans.”

DHL has been partnering with a number of automotive manufacturers recently to provide services, such as Omoda and Jaecoo, who entered the UK market last year.
