Jaguar EV concept leaked hours ahead of reveal

  • Jaguar recently discontinued the sale of all new cars in its home market of the UK, including the electric I-PACE, ahead of the brand’s rebirth as an all-electric marque by 2026.
  • This was followed by a recent advertising campaign, which went viral over the internet and left many divided on whether the advertisement campaign was bonkers or a work of genius – which has lead up to a reveal of its first new era EV, set to be revealed at the Miami Art Week on the 2nd of December.
  • However, we’ve had the chance to see the first photos of its electric coupe concept hours ahead of the reveal later today, with photos of the concept surfacing on the internet.

Our first look at Jaguar’s new EV concept

We’d already been given a hint at the shape of the new EV by Jaguar officially last month, after JLR published photos of a prototype model undergoing testing.

Jaguar are yet to comment on these photos leaked today however, and we won’t hear more on the design until the concept’s official reveal later today. However, the design aspects seen in these leaks seem to closely match those of the prototype. The photos show off Jaguar’s new text-based logo adorning the front and the rear of the car, The long, sweeping bonnet hints that this car will have significant presence on the road, but is also an indication of form over function, considering that EVs don’t have to accommodate for space-hogging petrol or diesel engines.

For reference, Jaguar is set to officially unveil this electric coupe concept at 1am UK time, or 8pm US Eastern time at the reveal location in Miami, Florida. We do already know that the final production model is targeting a price around the £100,000 / $125,000 mark, which will put it squarely against high-end EVs like the Porsche Taycan and Mercedes-Benz EQS.

Jaguar Managing Director, Rawdon Glover, said previously on Jaguar’s relaunch:

“To bring back such a globally renowned brand we had to be fearless. Jaguar was always at its best when challenging convention. That ethos is seen in our new brand identity today and will be further revealed over the coming months. This is a complete reset. Jaguar is transformed to reclaim its originality and inspire a new generation. I am excited for the world to finally see Jaguar.”
