LiveWire and KYMCO unveil electric ‘maxi-scooter’ concept at EICMA

  • LiveWire has revealed a new urban-focussed, all-electric ‘maxi-scooter’, based on the same electric underpinnings as the existing LiveWire S2 electric motorbike.
  • Unveiled at Milan’s EICMA Motorcycle Show, the scooter will be targeted at the European market.
  • The new model comes as part of LiveWire’s ongoing partnership with powersports manufacturer KYMCO, who will also contributed their own expertise in bringing this maxi-scooter to market.

LiveWire’s answer to zero-emission, personal urban mobility

This all-electric maxi-scooter concept is set to launch as a reality in the first half of 2026, with European markets in particular being targeted. LiveWire says that the finished product will use the same Arrow platform as the LiveWire S2, which means it’ll match the ‘benchmark performance’ and ‘range capabilities’ of the current model. Translated into technical terms, this could mean a combined riding range of around 86 miles, and the ability to fast charge the bike from 20-80% in under 80 minutes. Typically, ICE-powered maxi-scooters of the past have had an engine size of between 300 and 800cc, giving you an idea of the sort of performance this concept will aim for.

Karim Donnez, CEO of LiveWire, commented:

“The belief and recognition that we could create a class-leading maxi-scooter using our S2 Arrow powertrain has been a constant, KYMCO sharing their expertise has changed belief into reality, and we are excited to commence on this journey with such a globally recognized leader in the category.”

Allen Ko, Chairman of KYMCO, added:

“LiveWire is an iconic leader in electric solutions for urban mobility. We are excited to partner with them as LiveWire embarks on the development of a S2-based electric maxi-scooter.”

It’s not the only urban-oriented electric motorbike to come out of this week’s event, with Royal Enfield also kicking off its electric motorbike game with a new sub-brand, called Flying Flea.
