FOR:EV has launched the installation of rapid charging stations at four Starbucks drive-thru locations across Scotland.
FOR:EV’s charging partnership with Starbucks in Scotland could usher in a new era of charging convenience for drivers. Livingston and Dunfermline have already completed installations, while Galashiels and Blairgowrie are set to follow this month. These sites will feature state-of-the-art ultra-rapid 150kW C Series chargers. This will enable drivers in Livingston, Dunfermline, and Galashiels to charge from 20% to 80% in just 20-30 minutes. Blairgowrie, equipped with 100kW rapid chargers, accomplishes the same task in a mere 30-40 minutes.
Crucially, FOR:EV has established partnerships with site owners Mungo Park and Geddes SIPP, paving the way for future expansions. The objective is clear: establish a network of over 1,700 EV charging points across 600 public sites throughout Scotland and the UK. This initiative addresses a key concern for EV owners – the accessibility and convenience of charging away from home.
FOR:EV’s Business Development Manager, Calum Wallace said:
“The installation of these new ultra-rapid charge points at Starbucks sites across Scotland will be very welcome at a time when EV ownership is increasing dramatically. Infrastructure like this will make it easy for EV owners to quickly top up their charge in the time it takes to have a coffee.
In order to break down a key barrier to EV charging away from home, our chargers operate on a user-friendly ‘tap-and-go’ approach, with no registration or membership requirements, to make the experience as easy and stress-free as possible.”
Hamish Rankin, Head of Property at Mungo Park’s parent company, The Explorer Group said:
“We’re delighted to be teaming up with FOR:EV to provide our customers with rapid EV charging points at several of our sites. Their efficient charging system provides yet another high-quality service at our Starbucks drive throughs as we continue to supply to local communities.”
FOR:EV’s collaboration with Starbucks is a crucial move. It involves rapid installations, strategic alliances, and user-centric design. This signifies a significant step toward creating a comprehensive EV charging network. The partnership aims to meet the rising demand for sustainable transportation solutions in Scotland and beyond.
