  • EV charger manufacturer Peblar has appointed Erik Berens as its new Managing Director, as the firm looks to scale up on an international level, following high sales across much of Europe.
  • Berens comes promoted to Managing Director after spending two years as Peblar’s Commercial Director, understanding how Peblar can sell into different regions.
  • Looking into the future, Peblar is set to increase its sales presence across Western Europe and look to expand into more territories as demand for EV chargers continues to grow.

Peblar appoints new Managing Director

Peblar has named Erik Berens as its new Managing Director, in a move that signals the company’s intent to accelerate its charging expansion across Europe and beyond. Berens, who has served as Commercial Director at Peblar for the past two years, will now take on the firm’s international operations.

In his time as Commercial Director, Berens has aided Peblar in achieving double-digit revenue growth across five European regions, and launched a next-generation range of EV chargers which are manufactured entirely in Peblar’s home territory of The Netherlands.

In his new role, Berens will look for Peblar to meet three strategic priorities. This includes expansion into new markets whilst maintaining profitable growth, along with continuous production innovation across its range of residential and workplace charging solutions.

Recently, Peblar partnered with AMPECO to further enable solar-based EV charging across Europe.

Koen ten Hove, Chief Development Officer of Prodrive Technologies and Chairman of the Peblar board, commented:

“Erik has demonstrated that growth at any price is not growth that lasts. His commitment to focused market entry, operational clarity and continuous product innovation gives us absolute confidence that Peblar’s future is in capable hands.”

Erik Berens, new Managing Director at Peblar, added:

“Peblar doesn’t just have a place in the market – we have a right to lead it. Over the past two years, I’ve been in the field with our partners, understanding the nuances of the different regions. That insight puts us in a powerful position to scale responsibly and deliver innovation that truly works for installers, CPOs, wholesalers, and fleet operators.”
