Electrify America has passed 5,600 EV chargers across North America

Electrify America has now surpassed 5,600 EV chargers across its network, as demand for public charging continues to grow.
  • North American EV charging network, Electrify America, has now surpassed over 5,600 EV chargers across its network.
  • Whilst increasing public charging availability for drivers across North America, the CPO has also upgraded over 1,100 of its existing chargers into next-generation units with speeds of up to 350kW.
  • Electrify America is already one of the largest CPOs in the USA, and further expansion is planned, despite a retreat from EVs from the Trump administration.

Electrify America’s network reaches a major milestone

Electrify America, which operates public charging infrastructure across the USA and Canada, has now announced that in 2025, it surpassed 20 million individual charging sessions. This marks a 21% year-on-year rise, marking a clear improvement in charge point utilisation. That surge in demand also translated into a major jump in power delivered, with over 750 GWh worth of charging power delivered throughout 2025 – again, marking a 26% rise over 2024.

With rising charging demand, larger charging hubs are already in the pipeline. Electrify America has already opened two 20-charger sites – one in Santa Monica, and one in San Diego, which help to smooth charging traffic in areas where public charging is increasingly popular. Electrify America isn’t letting off its expansion either, with more charging locations set to go live throughout 2026.

For the USA in particular, Electrify America’s expansion comes despite a push back against EVs from the Trump administration, including the attempted halting of the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program, and the weakening of fuel economy rules set under the previous Biden administration. Despite this, CPOs in the region remain committed to rolling out infrastructure. The same can be said for retailer Walmart, which recently detailed that it would bring its owned-and-operated charging network to 19 more states.

Robert Barrosa, president and CEO of Electrify America, commented:

“As we approach our 10-year anniversary, I think about the millions of drivers who have shaped Electrify America into what it stands for today. Our year-over-year growth isn’t just a sign of a strong company; it reflects a growing community of EV drivers who believe in an electric future — and we’re honored to be their charging provider along the way.”
