- Leading global transport and logistics firm, DB Schenker, has taken delivery of the first ten of an order of 100 fully-electric, long distance MAN eTGX trucks which are set to finish joining its German fleet in 2026.
- At the delivery, MAN and DB Schenker also signed a letter of intent to order 50 units of the Man eTGL electric truck, bringing DB Shenker’s total order of electric MAN trucks up to 150.
- The move comes as the logistics company aims to decarbonisation its transportation fleet.
DB Schenker set for another 140 MAN electric trucks in its fleet, after 10 delivered

These electric trucks, specifically the MAN eTGX Ultra Low Liner, will join DB Schenker’s German fleet. This specification allows for trailers with a high loading volume and maximum interior height of three meters – making it ideal for all high loading volume purposes, such as automotive transport. Depending on battery specification, the eTGX can deliver up to 500 kilometres of range between charges. It’s the same model of electric truck that MAN delivered to Duvenbeck back in December – who are using them for some of Volkswagen Group’s automotive operations.
At the delivery ceremony, the two firms also signed a letter of intent to order 50 MAN eTGL 12 tonne trucks – a relatively smaller electric model which is tailored for urban operations.
Friedrich Baumann, Member of Executive Board for Sales & Customer Solutions at MAN Truck & Bus, commented:
“We are very proud that the first ten MAN eTGX are now in daily logistics use for DB Schenker. The sustainable decarbonisation of freight transport is our common goal. The new MAN eTruck is not only locally CO2-free, but also fulfils the diverse requirements of our customers. Volume transport is one example of this. No other series-produced electric semitrailer tractor on the market offers such a short wheelbase with maximum battery capacity for trailers with an interior height of three metres. The fact that DB Schenker also wants to rely on MAN for electric distribution transport with the eTGL confirms that our eTruck portfolio offers the right solution for every transport sector.”
Cyrille Bonjean, Executive Vice President of Land Transport at DB Schenker Europe, added:
“As a pioneer in the transition to zero-emission drives, DB Schenker will continue to invest in sustainable solutions in the future. We are delighted to be the first customer to have the opportunity to put a fleet of 10 MAN eTGXs into operation. Some vehicles will be used in daily scheduled services in our general cargo network in two-shift operation, for example in a daily round trip between our locations in Dortmund and Hanover. Other vehicles will be deployed specifically for our customers in the automotive and consumer sectors.”
