Clever and APCOA have announced a partnership to significantly expand public EV charging infrastructure in Denmark
Under the new agreement, Clever, Denmark’s leading EV charging operator, will install approximately 5,000 charging stations at APCOA’s parking facilities nationwide. This project will create Denmark’s largest integrated network of parking and charging stations.
Michael Christensen, Managing Director of APCOA Denmark, commented:
“We are witnessing a growing demand for charging options at our more than 3,000 locations. The need and expectation to charge vehicles while parking will only continue to increase. This necessitates a significant enhancement of our parking facilities to make it even easier and more attractive for electric vehicle owners to choose us. We are therefore delighted to partner with Clever to accelerate the green transition and electrify several thousand of our parking spaces, while also expanding Denmark’s charging infrastructure.”
Clever will be responsible for all aspects of setup, maintenance, and daily operations. APCOA will assist in integrating charging facilities with its existing parking sites.
Currently, APCOA operates 120 charging points, which will soon be accessible via the Clever app. In addition, the APCOA FLOW app will allow users to pay for charging at Clever’s 8,500 public stations, streamlining the process for drivers.
Casper Kirketerp-Møller, CEO of Clever, said:
“Parking spaces are a crucial part of our infrastructure and play a key role in supporting sustainable mobility. That’s why collaborating with APCOA Denmark, which operates over 3,000 locations across the country, is a natural fit for Clever. Our ambition is to establish more than 5,000 public charging points at APCOA Denmark’s parking facilities by 2028, offering even more charging options where Danes need them most in their daily lives. This partnership benefits Danish electric vehicle drivers and supports the green transition in transportation.”
