APCOA and CTEK have come together to offer EV charging for the UK’s car parks

The parking and destination charging sectors are booming. Destination chargers have become commonplace across many countries, and the crossover with car park operators seems like a natural fit.

APCOA, Europe’s leading parking solutions provider, has partnered with global vehicle charging specialist CTEK to capitalise on EV charging in the UK. The collaboration will bring CTEK’s CHARGESTORM CONNECTED 3 (CC3) units to APCOA-managed car parks, offering fast charging at up to 22kW.

Nathan Courts, CTEK’s Key Account Manager in the UK, said:

“We are thrilled to be working with the biggest name in UK car park management. This agreement aligns perfectly with our mission to provide reliable and intelligent destination charging solutions for a greener future.

Our new CC3 charge point meets the ISO15118 standard so is primed for the next wave of EV charging innovation and is designed to smoothly interact with APCOA’s friction-free approach to the parking, payment and charging experience for drivers.”

APCOA manages 1.8 million parking spaces across 13 countries. It already has over 1,000 EV charge points installed in the UK, with plans to add more than 300 this year. These charge points cater to diverse destinations, including hospitals, schools, hotels, retail centres, and airports.

CTEK has installed its first charge points in Hillingdon Council car parks in West London. Additionally, APCOA is equipping 37 railway station car parks, managed for Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR), with CTEK units.

Kim Challis, APCOA’s Regional Managing Director – UK & Ireland, said:

“We are very excited about this partnership with CTEK which enables us to offer our clients the very latest in dual 22kW technology and functionality, in conjunction with APCOA’s exceptional customer and operational management services.”

The collaboration is a valuable step in expanding the UK’s charging infrastructure. With 300 more installations planned, these high-tech, high-power charge points will find an extremely useful home at APCOA’s sites.
