bp pulse and Waffle House join forces to expand ultrafast EV charging across the south of the US
bp pulse is teaming up with iconic diner chain Waffle House to bring ultrafast EV charging stations to the Southeast and Sunbelt regions of the US. The partnership will make charging EVs more convenient for drivers on the road.
The plan calls for installing six ultrafast 400kW DC fast chargers at each participating Waffle House location. These chargers will support both CCS and NACS connectors, ensuring compatibility with most EV models. The first sites will open in 2026.

Waffle House diners are ideal spots for EV chargers. They’re open 24/7, located near highways, and provide amenities for drivers while their car charges. This makes them perfect pit stops for long-distance travellers.
Sujay Sharma, CEO of bp pulse Americas, said:
“Adding an iconic landmark like Waffle House to our growing portfolio of EV charging sites is such an exciting opportunity. As an integrated energy company, bp is committed to providing efficient solutions like ultrafast charging to support our customers’ mobility needs. We’re building a robust network of ultrafast chargers across the country, and this is another example of third-party collaborations enabling access to charging co-located with convenient amenities for EV drivers.”
This deal builds on bp pulse’s broader strategy to expand its charging network nationwide. In March 2024, bp pulse launched its first US Gigahub at its Houston headquarters, featuring 24 high-speed chargers. The company has also partnered with Simon Property Group to install over 900 ultrafast chargers at 75 Gigahub sites across the country.
David Repp, Director of Innovation at Waffle House, added,
“Waffle House is thrilled to collaborate with bp pulse to offer our customers a safe, well-lit and welcoming place to enjoy Good Food Fast any time of day. Charging up while fueling up on an All-Star Special will be convenient and fast – a perfect option for enjoying the Waffle House experience while charging your EV on the go.”
