Charge smart, pay less: British Gas now offers the UK’s most affordable EV charging
British Gas has introduced the most affordable solution for EV charging across the UK through its Hive SmartCharge service.
With Hive SmartCharge, users now benefit from a 4p/kWh discount on every EV charge-up. That’s up to £298 slashed off their energy bill, straight into their pocket, month after month.
Activating the free SmartCharge feature within the Hive app is all that’s required – Hive will do the rest. With Hive’s automatic charging feature, users can leave their EV plugged in, and Hive will charge it up when energy prices dip during the session. Paired with the Electric Driver tariff, users could be paying just 4.95p/kWh if they plug in overnight between 12am – 5am.
Hive SmartCharge is available to British Gas electricity customers through the Hive app, offering a potential reduction in transportation expenses for 2024 and beyond. Crucially, it also contributes to the nation’s EV transition and net zero ambitions.
