ABB E-mobility electrifies Scania globally with all-in-one EV truck charging solutions

ABB E-mobility and Scania are upping their collaboration with a global framework agreement. This allows Scania to offer a complete solution to EV customers, combining tailored charging solutions with electric vehicles. Scania will use ABB E-mobility’s DC fast charging technology, providing both its network and customers with advanced solutions. This includes Terra 360, one of the world’s fastest all-in-one electric vehicle chargers.

Fredrik Allard, Head of E-mobility at Scania, said:

“The collaboration with ABB E-mobility enables us to build on the momentum we see for electric transport, and it supports our 2030 goal to annually sell 50 percent electric vehicles. We value the global coverage and local presence of ABB E-mobility as well as their wide portfolio of quality EV charging solutions and service support.

ABB E-mobility will deliver a spectrum of DC charging solutions ranging from home depot to public charging. These span from 24 kW to an impressive 600 kW. In a shared commitment to pioneering a zero-emission transport future, this framework agreement not only strengthens local and global ties but also extends the reach to Scania customers in their home market, shaping the future of technology today.

Chris Nordh, Head of Fleet & Transit Business at ABB E-mobility, commented:

“We are delighted to help Scania offer their customers a broad range of EV charging solution. With access to the full breadth of our DC charging portfolio, we are ensuring that Scania can recommend the most appropriate solution for every use case, helping their customers successfully transition to electric.”

Breaking new ground earlier this year, ABB E-mobility and Scania celebrated a milestone with the successful test of their megawatt charging system (MCS). This cutting-edge technology promises to revolutionise heavy-duty vehicle charging. It slashes charging times by half for a more efficient and powerful future in the trucking industry. We’re looking forward to seeing where this collaboration could go next.
