- Geely-owned EV manufacturer, Zeekr, has announced the launch of a new in-car app for its European customers, called Zeekr Places.
- Using live data gathered in a partnership with automotive connectivity platform, 4screen, the car infotainment screen will be fed information on facilities nearby to them – such as, perhaps most crucially, nearby EV charging points.
- The software will go further than that, also showing nearby stores, restaurants, and giving businesses the opportunity to promote direct to the screen.
Zeekr aims to improve its EV infotainment systems
4screen has already partnered with OEMs such as Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, and Kia, with the company looking to offer its services up to an increasing number of manufacturers – as now shown with Zeekr’s new partnership, with the feature initially rolling out to its 001 and X models. While 4screen’s solution does allow for nearby businesses to pay for in-car-screen real estate, as a marketing method, it’s up to the individual manufacturers to decide whether they want to implement this specific feature into their cars.
The new software will also integrated with the existing AR head up display and Zeekr voice assistant that comes standard in the OEM’s EVs. As is the case with many new EVs, Zeekr’s models are able to be updated over the air, which means we can expect more quality of life updates to the car’s software, such as this solution, in the future.
Alessandro Massimino, Zeekr EU Chief Product Officer, commented:
“Through our partnership with 4screen, we’re providing our customers with tailored, intuitive engagement. Together, we’re not just shaping the EV experience; we’re defining it as it should be.”
Fabian Beste, 4screen CEO & Co-Founder, added:
“We’re excited to partner with Zeekr, bringing unparalleled engagement and convenience to the forefront of every drive. This collaboration is all about enriching the journey, setting a new benchmark for what EV drivers can expect from their in-car experience.”
