World EV Day™ launches The Better Manifesto for emobility storytelling in 2025

  • A major new campaign to rethink how to communicate the transition to EVs has been launched by World EV Day™.
  • The Better Manifesto aims to focus less on what to communicate about the EV project, and more on how to communicate the shift to emobility.
  • As we enter 2025, EV technological advancements across both cars and charging have moved on at pace, and the Better campaign aims to confidently convey that.

A new strategy for EV communications in 2025

Those in the sector know that EVs are better for cleaner air and climate, are better cars to drive and, increasingly, that the charging experience, at its best, is on the way to being a better experience than combustion refuelling. The Better campaign, World EV Day™ says, is both about communicating the facts and figures, but, crucially, also about delivering those messages with feeling and fervour. As a B2B2C framework, The Better Manifesto will do just that.

Ade Thomas, Founder of World EV Day™, said:

“The Better Manifesto is a declaration of aims designed to give those involved in the EV a communications toolkit to more confidently communicate the transition with passion and conviction. Rather than respond to critical voices, it’s our turn to create a culture that understands that EVs, and emobility, are better vehicles and a crucial tool for a better world. The Better campaign is as much about the form of communications as the content: as much about passion as it is about empiricism. So, as well as delivering facts, Better is about delivering feeling.”

Over the last couple of years, EV communicators have been on the back foot, responding to negatively defined territory defined by critical voices and critical media. This has had a detrimental effect on the emobility project.

Ade Thomas continued:

“The backstory idea is to be on the front foot with a narrative that’s super positive, rather than reacting to media negativity. In 2024, critical media defined the parameters we had to work on. In 2025, we are going to work to define the parameters of a positive playing field to play on in our marketing and storytelling.”
