EVs are getting more accessible as Volvo introduces a new entry-level EX30 Core trim

Volvo has expanded its lineup with the introduction of the EX30 Core trim, a new entry-level option for its electric small SUV. The move will make the EX30 more affordable and accessible to a wider range of customers. With cost standing as a primary barrier to EV adoption, introducing lower-cost models and variations is essential.
The EX30 Core will be available in two powertrain options.
The standard Single Motor version offers a range of up to 209 miles, while the Single Motor Extended Range variant boasts a substantial 295-mile range. Key features of the Core trim include a rear parking camera, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with built-in Google services, and a dashboard-mounted soundbar. The Extended Range version also comes with an energy-saving heat pump to optimise efficiency.

Pricing for the EX30 Core starts at £32,850 for the Single Motor version and £37,050 for the Extended Range. With the first deliveries set for early 2025, we’re expecting the pre-sale list to be long. Especially as three years, or 60,000 miles, of servicing and maintenance comes included.
This move is another step towards making EVs far more accessible. Low-cost models are hitting the market at pace, coming in at price tags as low as £14,995. Volvo is joining the movement and adding more pocket-friendly models, which will surely feature heavily in the incoming fleet of early mainstream adopters.
