Volvo is set to deliver 73 electric buses to Svealandstrafiken

Volvo Buses has secured a major order from Swedish public transport company Svealandstrafiken. The deal includes 73 electric buses, marking a significant step in Sweden’s transition to sustainable transport.

The order consists of 13 articulated buses for urban transport in Örebro and 60 regional buses for services in Örebro and Västmanland counties. These buses will help replace earlier orders from the Dutch manufacturer Ebusco, which were canceled due to financial issues.

The 13 articulated buses for Örebro will be delivered by early 2026. When combined with 23 electric buses from Ebusco, a total of 36 electric buses will serve the city. The new buses will reduce emissions and noise, contributing to a cleaner and quieter urban environment.

The regional buses will offer high levels of passenger comfort. They will feature reclining seats, armrests, luggage racks, and curtains, enhancing the travel experience.

This order continues Volvo’s successful partnership with Svealandstrafiken. Volvo first began supplying electric buses to the company in 2020, with more buses arriving in the following years. The company is also installing charging infrastructure in Västmanland to power the fleet.
