Volkswagen has unveiled the ID.7 GTX, the latest addition to its EV lineup.

The ID.7 GTX boasts a powerful electric drivetrain, a sporty design, and a focus on comfort and technology, all wrapped in a package partially constructed with recycled materials.

Performance

The ID.7 GTX features a dual-motor electric all-wheel-drive system (4MOTION) capable of generating 250 kW. This translates to a 0-100 km/h time of around 6 seconds. The car comes equipped with a new 86 kWh battery for extended range, with DC fast-charging capability of up to 200 kW.

Advanced systems

A suite of advanced driver assistance systems is available in the ID.7 GTX. This will include Park Assist Plus, lane assist, and adaptive cruise control. Additionally, the car features traffic hazard alerts and automatic emergency braking. As with most new EVs, it’s becoming a showcase for modern safety measures.

Design

Visually, the ID.7 GTX differentiates itself from its ID.7 siblings with a unique front and rear bumper design. The car sits on 20-inch Skagen alloy wheels and features a honeycomb grille design.

Volkswagen has incorporated recycled materials throughout the car. That includes the headliner, fabrics, carpets, and floor mats. The ArtVelours Eco material used in the seats is also made with at least 70% recycled PET.

Comfort and tech

The EV offers standard GTX seats designed for comfort with a sporty hint. The seats combine fabric and ArtVelours Eco microfleece upholstery, with red accents incorporated throughout the cabin for a sporty feel.

An optional upgrade to ergoActive seats provides 12-way electronic adjustability, lumbar support, and a massage function. Top that off with climate-controlled air conditioning. How comfortable do you need your car to be?

Availability

Pre-sales for the ID.7 GTX are expected to begin in select European countries next spring, with pricing yet to be announced.

The ID.7 GTX’s arrival signifies Volkswagen’s continued push towards emobility. A more premium addition to its ID line-up, and one that’s sure to turn some heads.
