- Volkswagen UK is discounting the entire ID. electric range by £1,000 for a limited time, running between 4 February and 3 March.
- The offer, which is available on both cash and finance car purchases, means the cheapest new Volkswagen electric car can now be had for £29,850, with the most affordable ID.3 hatchback.
- Finance customers will also be able to combine the £1,000 saving with Volkswagen’s deposit contributions, which currently range between the £1,700 and £8,900 mark.

The £1,000 discount isn’t the end of the story, as the deal can be complimented with VW’s existing offers on new EV purchases. This includes the choice of either a free Ohme home charger, or £500 worth of public charging credit through Volkswagen’s We Charge network. Additionally, the ongoing Volkswagen and OVO partnership allows for the option of OVO’s Charge Anytime tariff – which allows a home charging price of 7p per kWh, along with a free home charging credit worth the equivalent of 10,000 EV miles.
With the limited time discount, the ID.3 in its entry level trim can now be purchased at a list price of £29,850. This brings the ID.3 even closer to price parity with its petrol equivalent, the Golf, which has an entry level list price of £27,760 – but for those that can charge at home, that’s a price gap that’ll be quickly made up for, particularly when taking advantage of the existing offers from Ohme, We Charge, and OVO.
The timing of the offer also comes at what is already expected to be a busy two months for EV retailers in the UK, ahead of the implementation of electric car road tax from the beginning of April. That rush to buy and register an EV before VED rates rise, combined with this £1,000 cut across the range, could help boost sales across the ID. range further, across February and March.
