Volkswagen continues to expand its ID. range of electric vehicles (EVs) revealing the ID. XTREME. This fully electric concept car looks like Volkswagen’s ID.4 GTXon steroids and is designed for rugged outdoor adventure.

It features an all-wheel-drive system based on the ID.4 GTX and combines the strengths of a modern electric sports utility vehicle (SUV) with the sense of adventure all encapsulated in an off-road vehicle.

Silke Bagschik, Volkswagen Head of the MEB Product Line, said: “The modular electric drive matrix (MEB) has enormous technical potential. For many of our customers, vehicles are much more than just a means of transport. With the ID. XTREME, we are raising electric mobility from VW to a new performance level.”

The ID. XTREME01 features raised rally running gear, 18-inch off-road wheels, a modified crash member with an additional front bumper and 50 mm-wider wings manufactured using 3D printing. It also has a roof carrier with additional LED lights and a completely closed aluminium underbody.
