Volkswagen UK have announced the order books for the new all-electric ID. BuzzCargo are officially open. This has to be the coolest looking van on the road, with prices starting from £38,125 or just £479 per month on Contract Hire.
With this electric vehicle (EV) customers can choose between two trim levels, Commerce and Commerce Plus, that offer business-ready practicality, advanced connectivity and driver assistance systems. Both come with a 77kWh battery that delivers an all-electric range of up to 256 miles (412km).
The Commerce variant, which starts from £38,125, features an LED headlight signature, three front seats with heated driver’s seat, front and rear parking sensors, Ready 2 Discover infotainment system with a 10-inch touchscreen, wireless App-Connect for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and multiple USB-C ports. The price also includes three services and one MOT.
The Commerce Plus version, which starts from £42,375, adds Adaptive Cruise Control, Keyless Entry, Park Assist Plus with memory function, rearview camera, multi-function leatherette steering wheel, heated windscreen, Discover Pro navigation system with a 10-inch touchscreen, plus a range of driver assistance systems such as Travel Assist, Lane Assist, Side Assist and Emergency Assist.
Customers are also eligible for a free wall box charger and a £100 We Charge voucher†, if financed through Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Financial Services on any finance product (Up to 7.7% APR Representative).
The ID. Buzz Cargo, built on the MEB platform, can accommodate two Euro pallets loaded sideways, with an overall volume of up to 3.9 cubic metres. Likewise, with its powerful e-drive, trailer loads of up to 1,000kg can also be easily attached to the optional trailer hitch.
To give the ID. Buzz even more credibility Volkswagen announced a collaboration with Disney’s new limited Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi. The campaign launched with a customised advert made in collaboration with Lucasfilm and Industrial Light & Magic. It features the ID. Buzz and some familiar Star Wars characters. This includes leading actor, Ewan McGregor, who is also a brand ambassador for Volkswagen. Could this electric vehicle get any cooler?
