  • In what is a significant milestone in Volkswagen’s EV journey, this week it delivered its 1,500,000th electric vehicle from the ID. range to a customer, marking strong growth since it initially started delivering its first ID. models in the form of the Volkswagen ID.3 back in late 2020.
  • The 1,500,000th EV to be roll off the production line and be delivered was a Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer Pro, delivered to a customer in Germany.
  • Volkswagen now sells seven specific ID. models, with more affordable models also in the pipeline set to push its delivery figures even further.

Volkswagen’s all-electric sales continue to rise

It’s not just the Volkswagen brand that’s seeing impressive EV sales growth in recent months but the Volkswagen Group as a whole also. Across all of its divisions of the group, including passenger brands (Volkswagen, Skoda, Audi, etc.) and commercial brands such as MAN and Scania, Volkswagen Group has recently recorded a 50% year-on-year rise in EV deliveries.

With more affordable Volkswagen ID. models on the horizon, the brands EV push is set to grow stronger. In 2026, Volkswagen is set to launch the ID.2all, a sub €25,000 compact electric hatchback. One year later, that’ll be followed by the launch of the Volkswagen ID. EVERY1, an even more affordable €20,000 model that is set to compete with some of the cheapest electric cars already on the market.

Martin Sander, Board member for Sales, Marketing and After Sales, commented:

“1.5 million ID. models delivered – this clearly shows that Volkswagen is a pioneer in the field of electromobility. This confirms that our portfolio contains the vehicles our customers need. As a company, we are on the right path. Volkswagen remains a trailblazer in the ramp-up phase of electromobility.”
