- International EV charging and energy platform provider, Virta, has announced its agreement to acquire Scandinavian EV charging and fleet management platform Northe.
- When merged together, the two firms will become the largest B2B EV driver platform across the Nordics, encompassing over 100,000 EV drivers jointly using the platform.
- The deal is expected to close by the end of August.
Virta and Northe to join forces
Virta’s acquisition of Northe comes at a pivotal moment within the EV industry, particularly as fleets continue to make up the majority of EV purchases within Europe – according to recent statistics, around 60% of new EV sales within the EU are registered to companies.
As electric fleet fleet sizes continue to expand, businesses will face growing challenges related to managing costs, charging, and reporting. Northe has already built an industry reputation for delivering data-driven solutions for to leasing companies and fleet operators. Combining that with Virta’s established charging expertise, the new agreement will make the electric vehicle transition even more seamless for businesses, and allow Northe to benefit from Virta’s more international market scope.
