VinFast launches the VF e34 electric SUV in right-hand-drive form

  • Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer, VinFast, has launched the VF e34 in right-hand-drive for the first time, with the compact electric SUV now destined for Indonesian consumers.
  • With a starting price of 315,000,000 IDR, equivalent to $19,836 / £15,710, the VF e34 is set to be an attractive proposition for the Indonesian market, taking on vehicles such as the 435,000,000 IDR MG ZS EV.
  • The VF e34 will also be available with VinFast’s new battery subscription service, reducing the initial cost of purchase and ownership costs.

VinFast goes RHD for Indonesia

Whilst the VF e34 has been on sale in its home market of Vietnam since 2021, this marks the first time that the car has been available in right-hand-drive, with Indonesia set to be the first RHD market for VinFast to enter. This confirmed launch could also hint at UK sales of its electric vehicles in the near future, as the company is already preparing for mainland European deliveries with its VF8 electric crossover.

The battery subscription available with the VF e34 will set drivers back 1,500,000 IDR (£74.97) a month for those doing less than 3,000km monthly, with a higher 2,600,000 IDR (£129.95) price for those driving over 3,000km a month. Within this new scheme, VinFast will also replace the battery free of charge if its health drops below 70%, reducing any unforeseen costs for customers and encouraging confidence in the purchase.
