Vauxhall have released pictures of its all-new Combo-e, a fully-electric variant of its Combo van. With a range of up to 171 miles (275km) from a single charge, the new Combo-e is ideal for partner both business and private users after a zero-emissions van.
The new Combo-e features a 100kW (136 horsepower) electric motor and 50kW battery. This supports several charging solutions, from domestic three-pin plugs to 100kW rapid charging, and can charge up to 80 percent in 30 minutes. Longer L2H1 variants of the Combo-e that feature a maximum load volume of 4.4m3 and a maximum load length of up to 3.4m will also be available.

The 50kWh lithium-ion battery in the Combo-e is made up of 216 cells and 18 modules. It has been located under the floor between the front and rear axle, so load volume isn’t compromised. The battery position results in a low centre of gravity that improves cornering and stability even when fully loaded.

The 100kW electric motor produces 260Nm of torque and can accelerate from 0-60mph (0-100kph) in 11.2 seconds, with a controlled maximum speed of 80mph. This makes it ideal for both city use and longer motorway journeys. To improve vehicle range, the Combo-e features sophisticated regenerative braking technology, with ‘B’ mode increasing the regenerative braking for maximum energy recovery.

The Combo-e shares the same capabilities as its 2019 International Van of the Year winning Combo petrol and diesel variants but with zero-emissions. It will be available in two lengths and will arrive in the showrooms in the autumn. A fully-electric Movano-e will join the Combo-e and Vauxhall’s Vivaro-e later this year. This means Vauxhall will have an electric variant across its entire van range by the end of the year.
