German automotive producer Vauxhall-Opel have announced that they will launch an electric version of their popular Movano van. The new Movano-e joins their new all electric Vauxhall Vivaro-e that was launched earlier this year and is expected to be available from October. At present Vauxhall haven’t offered any specs or technical data for the new electric Movano-e but it is expected to hit the roads in 2021.
It’s good to see Vauxhall will be offering all of its light commercial vehicles as electric versions. This will certainly help companies that operate in inner city environments to hit government targets for reducing pollution.
Vauxhall Opel CEO, Michael Lohscheller, said: “Electrification is particularly important in the light commercial vehicle segment. Whether as a delivery vehicle for the last mile or for use by craftsmen. With Combo, Vivaro and Movano we offer our customers the option of emission-free driving in city centres in numerous individual variants”.
