ubitricity appoints former COO, Alexander Reinhardt, as new CEO to drive growth

ubitricity appoints Alexander Reinhardt as its new CEO. The announcement was made on January 2, 2025, marking a new chapter for the company.

Reinhardt, who has been with ubitricity since 2014, was previously the Chief Operating Officer. Over the years, he played a key role in expanding the company’s operations to the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, and France. Under his leadership, ubitricity became the largest public charging network in the UK, with over 9,000 charging points across 30 local authorities.

ubitricity’s focus under Reinhardt will be on improving access to public charging for EV owners. The availability of reliable, widespread charging points is one of the biggest barriers to widespread EV adoption.

Reinhardt commented:

“Improving access to public charging is crucial for the continued adoption of electric vehicles, and I believe ubitricity can play a significant role in this transition. Having dedicated over a decade to ubitricity, I am excited to lead this company into its next chapter with Shell group as we continue to innovate and expand our EV charging network even further across Europe.”

ubitricity will also lead efforts to innovate and introduce new charging products, including fast and rapid charge points. This move will boost EV adoption and support a cleaner future. With his experience, Reinhardt is well-positioned to drive these changes and lead ubitricity into the next phase of growth.
