Last Thursday, industry leaders gathered at LinkedIn’s Farringdon office in London for an insightful Top Women in EV event. Hosted by Green.TV Media in partnership with Auto Trader UK, the event focused on supporting women in the electric vehicle (EV) industry. Addresses from Erin Baker, Michelle Davis, Gill Nowell, and a fantastic panel discussion covered the growing female presence in the emobility sector.
Michelle Davis, Head of Automotive at LinkedIn, kicked off the event, highlighting the power of LinkedIn for thought leadership. With 2.4 million EV enthusiasts in the UK on the platform, they stressed the importance of long-form content, video engagement, and cross-sector storytelling.
Michelle said:
“The idea of this event is to create a safe space for women connected to the EV industry on how they can leverage their skills and expertise on LinkedIn to increase their presence.”
Auto Trader’s Erin Baker shared eye-opening data from their No Women Left Behind report. She revealed that 62% of women feel they don’t know enough about EVs to buy one. The discussion emphasised the need for better representation, honest conversations, and brands that reflect a diverse workforce. Electric vehicles are changing the car industry, now, these machines are finally taking their spot as integral lifestyle products. Treating EVs as practical, useful commodities that ease our daily lives will better express their benefits than old-school car media.
The event also featured a Rock Your EV Profile session. Michelle Davis offered LinkedIn tips to boost visibility. Attendees learned more about how to use their LinkedIn profiles to bring in new opportunities and maximise their professional outreach.

After a networking session filled with cake, coffee, and engaging conversations, the afternoon wrapped up with a fantastic panel discussion. Michelle hosted LinkedIn Sales Leader, Sevda Gurpinar, Electroheads’ Content Lead and Emobility Influencer, Eilis Barratt, Co-Founder of myenergi Jordan Brompton, and Head of Marketing for VW Commercial Vehicles UK, Kate Thompson.
Together, they explored the challenges of upgrading the car industry to reach beyond the male market.

They discussed their own journeys and experiences of the industry, and how to support more women in leadership roles. A lively audience discussion brought the room together under a shared vision to harness the rapid changes in the industry and forge them into a positive pathway for more women to succeed in the EV space.
This event was part of the Top Women in EV 2025 campaign, which recognises and mentors women driving the EV revolution. The event was the first of a series planned across the year, to expand the reach of the Top Women campaign and bring in-person conversation to a previously online platform.
Gill Nowell, Director of Emobility at Green.TV Media, commented:
“It’s an honour to spearhead this campaign for Green.TV. Remarkably, Top Women in EV is active in over 30 countries, and achieves a LinkedIn organic reach of over 1.5 million. Above and beyond the numbers though, it’s actually a very topical and much-needed movement that has the potential to deliver change, build confidence and celebrate our community. We’d love you to join us.”
The next Top Women event will take place on the 1st of May 2025 at the Shell HQ in London, UK. Email Daveena Saranna today to express your interest in attending.
