The upcoming smart #5 is adding new dimensions to the smart electric line-up
smart is launching its latest electric model, the all-new smart #5. This mid-size SUV is debuting at a World Premiere in Brisbane, Australia on August 28, 2024. The model will arrive in European markets in 2025. Pricing is to be confirmed, however, the brand’s previous electric entries have fallen on the more affordable side.
Dirk Adelmann, CEO of smart Europe, commented:
“With the smart #5, we have created our most spacious and versatile vehicle to date. The #5 is a great expansion of our existing portfolio and will make the smart brand an attractive choice for more and more customers in Europe.”
The smart #5 will capture new customer segments for the brand. It offers a spacious, versatile interior to become a true all-rounder. It brings to life the smart Concept #5, first revealed earlier this year. Featuring a distinctive boxy silhouette and robust functionality, the SUV combines smart’s signature aesthetic with practical, off-road capabilities.
Designed by Mercedes-Benz, the smart #5 embodies the brand’s “love, pure, unexpected” design philosophy. Its innovative features are undergoing extensive testing. The vehicle has already been evaluated in harsh off-road and winter conditions to ensure the electric powertrain and safety systems perform reliably under extreme circumstances.
