Škoda is committing to accessible emobility with two new models of the Enyaq electric SUV

Škoda has unveiled two new entry-level models for its Enyaq electric SUV lineup: the Enyaq 50 and Enyaq 50 Edition. With prices starting at £36,970, these models are £2,000 cheaper than the outgoing Enyaq 60. These new models will build off the resounding success of the electric name badge.

The Enyaq 50 and Enyaq 50 Edition are powered by a 55kWh battery, offering 234 miles of range. The rear-mounted electric motor delivers 170PS and 310Nm of torque. That allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0-62mph in just 9.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 99mph. The new models boast a peak DC charge speed of 145kW and 11kW on an AC connection. An 80% charge takes around 25 minutes on a DC rapid charger. A full charge on an 11kW AC connection takes approximately five hours and 30 minutes.

What about additional featues?

Standard features include 19-inch Proteus alloy wheels, a Loft interior Design Selection, a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment display with navigation, and advanced safety features. The Enyaq 50 Edition adds full LED Matrix beam headlights, full LED rear lights, heated front seats and steering wheel, privacy glass, Crew Protect Assist, additional airbags, tri-zone climate control, adaptive cruise control, and cooled wireless charging (15W). An impressive array of features considering the reduced price tag.

The Enyaq 50 models are now available to order, with the base model priced at £36,970 and the Edition variant at £38,585.

Škoda’s revised Enyaq lineup will also include the Enyaq 85 Edition, Enyaq 85x Sportline Plus, Enyaq 85 L&K, and the range-topping Enyaq vRS. These models feature a larger 82kWh (77kWh net) battery pack, enhancing their appeal further.

The introduction of two new models at a lower entry point could be huge for Škoda’s EV market aspirations. With affordability remaining a massive adoption barrier for many, these models could make emobility far more appealing to the next wave of drivers.
