Siemens adds Mennekes to Simaris to accelerate and reduce the costs of EV charger deployment
Siemens and Mennekes have announced a partnership to simplify the planning of EV charging infrastructure. The collaboration streamlines the process for electrical planners, making it easier to design and install charging stations.
Stephan May, CEO of Electrification and Automation, Siemens Smart Infrastructure, commented:

“This partnership allows us to offer our customers everything from a single source for fast and easy planning of sustainable e-charging infrastructure. Together we are accelerating the energy transition.”
As part of the deal, Mennekes becomes the first external partner in Siemens’ Simaris ecosystem, a digital planning tool for electrical distribution.
Andreas Matthé, CEO of Electrical Products at Siemens, explained:
“We are excited that Mennekes is the first external partner in our Simaris ecosystem, giving customers direct access to their product portfolio. This will make power distribution planning for eMobility infrastructure even simpler.”
The Simaris tools help planners calculate power distribution needs and select the necessary components, such as distribution boards. The software also automates compliance with industry standards, reducing errors and saving time.

A key feature of the system is Building Information Modeling (BIM), which allows planners to integrate charging infrastructure into digital twin models. This ensures EV charging stations are factored into a project’s early planning stages. Data can also be shared, exported, and imported seamlessly, improving collaboration across teams. This extends Siemens’ mission to accelerate Europe’s EV infrastructure.
Christopher Mennekes, CEO of Mennekes, added:
“For years, we have been offering not just customised charging solutions, but also a wide range of services for planners. By partnering with Siemens and integrating our charging infrastructure into Simaris, we are continuing along this path and making day-to-day work easier for planners.”
