The AA, the UK’s largest automotive organisation, is going all-electric with Rightcharge’s support
The AA operates a fleet of over 2,800 vehicles across the UK, and it’s electrifying the lot. Rightcharge will provide home charging reimbursements and a public charge card for the company. With the card, drivers can pay at 38 public charging networks using company funds. For home charging, drivers will receive a monthly credit on their energy bills to cover the cost of charging their work vehicles.
Charlie Cook, Founder and CEO of Rightcharge, said:
“We are delighted to welcome The AA to Rightcharge. This partnership marks an amazing milestone on our journey to help customers accelerate their transition to electric vehicles. To be supporting such an iconic British brand is exciting for the business and we are all looking forward to playing a role in The AA’s transition to a decarbonised fleet.”
Rightcharge’s platform integrates directly with energy providers. That eliminates the need for employees to notify when they change tariffs or providers. This ensures drivers are always reimbursed correctly, even without a smart meter.
The AA is aiming for net-zero operational emissions by 2035. It made a notable leap with an order of electric recovery trucks earlier this year. Rightcharge’s tools let The AA track charging costs and carbon emissions, helping it to improve sustainability, cut expenses, and track its net-zero journey.
Simon Ungless, Commercial Group Fleet Manager at The AA, commented:
“We were looking for a solution to accurately reimburse our EV drivers for their home charging and a wider public network. We feel Rightcharge offers the best solution available in the market.”
With this collaboration, The AA and Rightcharge are leading by example, embracing emobility and moving the UK ever closer to net-zero.
