Right Fuel Card and Rightcharge come together to power businesses through the EV transition
Last month, the United Kingdom witnessed a historic surge in EV sales. Over 68,000 fully electric cars were sold, marking the highest monthly figure to date. This milestone reflects the nation’s accelerating shift toward sustainable transportation, especially as the 2030 ban on new petrol and diesel vehicles approaches—albeit somewhat flexibly.

Amid this transition, Right Fuel Card and Rightcharge have announced a strategic partnership to unify EV charging and fuel payments. Right Fuel Card, already serving over 20,000 businesses, now offers an integrated solution that encompasses public EV charging, home charging reimbursements, and conventional fuel payments.
Matthew Briggs, CEO of Right Fuel Card, commented:
“We’re thrilled to partner with Rightcharge to offer a comprehensive solution that meets the evolving demands of UK businesses. Our expertise in fuel card management and access to over 85% of UK fuel stations, paired with Rightcharge’s innovative approach to EV charging, ensures that whether your fleet runs on diesel, petrol, or electricity, you have the right tools to operate efficiently and sustainably.”
Rightcharge enhances this offering by providing access to more than 70% of the UK’s public charging network. That totals over 62,000 charge points across 39 networks. This extensive coverage eliminates charging anxiety for many would-be adopters.
For home charging, Rightcharge’s API integrations with energy suppliers facilitate real-time consumption tracking and accurate cost calculations. That ensures that reimbursements are processed easily. Charges are applied directly to drivers’ home energy bills, thereby eliminating out-of-pocket expenses and reducing administration.
Charlie Cook, CEO of Rightcharge, said:
“We’re excited that Right Fuel Card has chosen Rightcharge as their EV charging partner. We understand that mixed fleets require a market-leading solution for both EV and fuel as they transition to electric. This partnership is an exciting opportunity to provide fleets with an advanced solution to radically simplify EV charging and fuel payments.”
As the UK experiences unprecedented growth in EV adoption, collaborations like this signify the old world entering the new. With strategic partnerships and forward thinking, traditional fuel suppliers and locations can still benefit from emobility.
