  • UK CPO RAW Charging has opened its ‘flagship’ ultra-rapid EV charging hub, located in Forest Hill in South London.
  • With 3 150kW and 3 300kW charging units able to support the simultaneous charging of up to 12 vehicles, the site has become the largest of its kind within South London.
  • The hub has been opened in partnership with Hubber, a new urban-focussed charging infrastructure firm which is looking to open much demanded ultra-rapid charging infrastructure in ultra-urban areas.

RAW Charging brings ultra-rapid charging infrastructure to urban area of London

Located just 200 metres from London’s Forest Hill train station, the new charging hub is located in a crucial area for both EV commuters and local residents without access to off-street private charging.

RAW Charging’s new site was acquired by Hubber, a newly founded EV real estate and infrastructure firm which looks to address a lack of ultra-rapid charging in more urban locations, through the transformation of underutilised urban property sites into EV charging hubs. Founded by three ex-Tesla employees who worked on the rollout of the Tesla Supercharger network in the UK, the trio already carry significant charging industry-related expertise. This hub opened with RAW Charging is the first milestone we’ve seen from the firm, with Hubber hoping to support the opening of a further 30 urban charging hubs in the near future.

The new hub also adds to the wide range of destinations where RAW Charging is offering charging opportunities, which also includes National Trust sites, retail outlets such as McArthurGlen, and pubs within the Greene King group.

Neil Broadbank, CCO of RAW Charging, commented:

“Forest Hill marks the first in a wave of RAW Rapid hubs coming online at key London retail, leisure, and hospitality destinations over the next 12 months.

Thanks to Hubber and their dynamic approach, we’re unlocking the development and energisation of these sites in record time, with this particular site being acquired, developed and constructed from start to finish in nine months.

RAW are catering to very high driver demand, and we’re enabling and enhancing experiences with EV charging at retail, leisure and hospitality destinations nationwide.”

Harry Fox, Co-Founder & CEO of Hubber, added:

“Large, high-powered hubs like Forest Hill play a vital role in enhancing London’s fast, reliable charging network. We’re proud to deliver this in partnership with RAW and look forward to the long-term benefits this collaboration will bring to drivers and the city.”
