RAW Charging and McArthurGlen’s EV charging partnership
Hot on the heels of RAW Charging’s announcement of a partnership with Merlin Entertainment to install electric car chargers at five of its big UK attractions, the company has now announced a new deal with designer outlet group McArthurGlen.
This partnership consists of 60 22kW EV chargers at its Paris-Giverny location. This can supply up to 120 electric vehicles with a charge at once, which RAW Charging says makes it one of the biggest AC charging destinations in all of Europe. Accessibility is also accounted for, as the setup includes four disabled bays, and six widened family parking bays.
To further the sustainability of the charging site, the parking spaces are set on grass. The facility is also surrounded by wildflowers to protect the wildlife at the location.
At locations such as these, AC chargers are a more viable solution. They are relatively cheap to install compared to ultra-rapid chargers, and the slower charge times are made up for by the long time spent by customers at the location.
The company already supplies charging infrastructure at some of McArthurGlen’s UK designer outlets, including its York and East Midlands sites.
As electric cars continue to gain popularity, ahead of the 2030 and 2035 petrol and diesel car bans in the UK and the EU respectively, partnerships like these are essential in ensuring that charging infrastructure meets ever-growing demand.
“As a committed Francophile, having spent many years in France, I am absolutely delighted to partner with McArthurGlen to deliver in Giverny our first major European installation and Chargepoint’s largest global installation of CP6000s. McArthurGlen Designer Outlets represent the epitome of our dedication to providing best-in-class EV charging experience to visitors of world class Retail, Hospitality and Leisure destinations.”
